THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi! I'm Lee - a creative photographer and extremely proud daddy to Alfie (12yrs) and Ava (8yrs). I love photography (fortunately), going for walks in beautiful places, and I may or may not have a slight obsession with drinking good coffee.
Creativity is in my DNA!
My Dad taught me to draw as soon as I could pick up a pencil and at school I stood out in art and Graphic Design. I've also enjoyed painting and restoring old, and once loved, pieces of furniture to give them a new lease of life. Sometimes, older is better :)
I spent every weekend with my Grandparents growing up and my late Grandad (who everyone called Bank) always had cameras and video cameras, albeit the old ones with actual film in them. From the age of 5yrs I was enlisted as his "little helper" during shoots and editing sessions. It was here where my love for pictures and storytelling began. We also frequented junk shops and car boot sales during these weekends and I'd spend hours sifting through boxes searching for pictures that inspired me - My favourites were the black & white documentary-style photographs that captured people, places and moments in time.
Although photography began as a hobby, it soon became my favourite way to be creative and express myself; telling stories through pictures, preserving special memories for friends and family members.
I went on to train under a member of the Royal Photographic Society and I also studied wedding photography at the prestigious London School of Photography (LSP). Along the way, I have created my own unique photo journalistic style which pays homage to those old black & white photographs I used to dig out as young boy.
My role as a wedding photographer is to tell a story in pictures, hunt for natural light, capture all the tiny details as well as the epic moments, and do so unobtrusively. I steer away from controlling the scene as much as possible (those dreaded posed shots) and simply photograph my observations in a beautifully honest and creative way.
So, that’s a little bit about me. What's your story? I'd love to discuss you, your plans, and how I can help you document this amazing chapter in your lives.
